South Carolina
Rising

Rooted in history.  Rising for the future.  Launching soon.

Our Mission

"I will not give up the fight while I can still swing a sword."

— General Francis Marion, The Swamp Fox

On June 28, 1776, a palmetto log fort on Sullivan's Island withstood the full fury of the British fleet. Cannon fire that would have shattered stone walls simply sank into the spongy palmetto wood — and South Carolina held. That spirit of resilient defiance has defined this state ever since.

South Carolina Rising PAC is launching a new chapter in that long tradition — fighting for the values, the people, and the sovereign dignity of the Palmetto State. We are not a new idea. We are an old one, reborn.

A Legacy of Courage

Milestones of the Palmetto State

1776

The Battle of Sullivan's Island

Colonel William Moultrie's outnumbered garrison repelled a nine-hour British naval assault from a fort built of palmetto logs. The palmetto tree became the enduring symbol of South Carolina's indomitable will.

1788

The Eighth State

South Carolina ratified the United States Constitution on May 23, 1788, becoming the eighth state to join the Union — a founding pillar of the American republic, shaped by the fierce independence of her people.

1861

A State That Would Not Yield

South Carolina stood at the center of the most defining conflict in American history. The courage, sacrifice, and unyielding spirit of her sons and daughters remains woven into the fabric of this land.
